Quartz vs Granite..
Ya.. I punya table top is quartz bukan granite.. Maybe most of you tak tahu sebab yang popular is granite.. but let me tell you the difference ya.. I ambik ni from wesite also tapi kok ada yang malas nak meng"google", let me share with you..
Granite may be the best selling natural stone on the market but quartz is gaining ground quickly and for good reason.
1) Which Countertop Is More Durable?
When you compare the benefits of quartz countertops vs granite the first thing that you have to consider is the durability of the surface. Will it stand up to the daily use and occasional abuse that we put these surfaces through?
Granite is a very strong material and resists cracking and chipping very well. Quartz does however rate higher on the hardness scale (known as the Mohs Hardness Scale) and it resists cracking and chipping better.
One word of caution: Don’t get square corners in any natural stone. Opt for a bullnose or another edge detail that is rounded. Square and ornately decorated corners have a tendency to chip. You can eliminate the possibility of an unrepairable chip by getting a more functional edge detail for your countertop.
2) Which Counter Resists Stains Better?
Quartz is highly stain-resistant as it is a nonporous material, which makes it very easy to clean. It can repel the most common stains such as wine, oil, coffee, vinegar or even makeup. On the other hand, granite has a crystalline structure and contains natural small spaces or fissures that require regular sealing.
This maintenance needs to be done about once a year. It’s easy to do but if you forget to do it you run the risk of allowing stains and bacteria to find safe harbor deep inside of your countertop.
3) Is One Surface Safer Than The Other?
The nonporous aspect of quartz also allows superior protection against pathogens, because it is harder for them to develop and makes it easier for you to keep a clean kitchen.
As for granite, it is said to emit a small level of radon, which is a gas found naturally occurring in the Earth. Considering that granite countertops are made directly from the extracted rock, there is a higher risk of radon exposure. The risk is very small however and I would not worry about it.
4) Which Surface Is More Attractive?
This is the most important consideration when making a choice between granite vs quartz. It’s a personal choice that is completely a matter of opinion. I prefer the look of quartz and many of the patterns from Silestone but you may prefer the more natural look of granite.
Both materials are available in a wide variety of patterns and colors. However, you should know that, with granite, seams are nearly impossible to hide. In the case of quartz, you can conceal them better with darker colors or with the help of professional installers.
5) Countertop Installation
You’re going to need to find a specialist to install your countertops, as both quartz and granite are rather heavy and can be hard to handle. You should also go for professional installation if you want to reduce the risk of breaking, fissuring or chipping, especially with granite.
6) Comparing The Cost
As for the price, granite tends to be more expensive, but it depends on the colors, patterns, and manufacturers that you choose from. Granite can be more affordable and it has lowered in price in recent years while the cost of quartz countertops can vary widely. However, considering the easy maintenance of quartz, you will find it more practical than the costly repairs of the granite and the regular maintenance.
It may seem like a hard choice to make when it comes to comparing quartz and granite, as granite is high on the list for many families, but quartz has started to gain popularity recently by offering a safer solution and easy availability at local home improvement stores.

My Wet Kitchen.. After 1 1/2 Year
Ni kira entry mengimbau kembali keadaan wet kitchen waktu mula-mula dulu and the condition after one and a half year.. kiranya sekarang ni la.. Nak jengah, meh ler...
Gambar ni, kalau you all pergi entry kitchen sebelum ni, memang ada I letak. Carilah entry tu ye.. korang gi je kat labels then cari "KITCHEN". Jangan lak cari LAMAN! This photo was taken just after dapur I ni siap. Hob tak letak lagi sbb we all pakai yang lama. Belum angkut lagi sebab time ni we all belum pindah. The red in theme.. I like it! Nampak garang and megah kao! ha..ha..
Ni lah keadaannya my wet kitchen ni yang tak pernah berhenti berkhidmat untuk tuan rumah setiap hari kecuali time we all holiday or balik kg. Kira time tu barulah dia dapat berehat and kira tutup kedailah! Masih di tahap kebersihan yang memuaskan. Memang I dah masak, suruh my Bibikk lap semua. Tak mboh minyak-minyak sana sini weih! Rosak nanti dapur merahku! muah, muah, muahhhh.. kat atas hood, kat tepi, semua lap!
The sliding door from RELIANCE to divide the wet and dry kitchen so that tak adalah kacau. If tetamu datang reramai, sila ke ruang depan tu ye sementara I masak. I memang tak suka orang menjengah I masak nanti tak menjadi..
This is from the dry kitchen. eh cak!
This angle was taken from outside, kat tepi pintu, jengah ke dalam. Tu rak simpan botol sos sebagai and that deep freezer tempat simpan barang-barang basah. Dump je kat situ. I beli pun sebab peti sejuk kat rumah lama tak muat simpan EBM.. tak regret you.. So, I dengan senang hati stocked up mmy EBM kat my fridge while barang dapur letak kat deep freezer...
Cerita deep freezer ni ada kat entry awal-awal in my blog. carilah ye korang.. :)

Inspection After Renovation
Ni cerita lompat2 nih! This entry dah lama I nak keluarkan tapi terlupa plak..he..he.. Ni condition rumah I after completion of renovation. Time ni belum basuh rumah lagi. Just jenguk2, tgk ada apa2 yg perlu ditambah and kalau ada default
Grill yg dah siap dipasang. Amacam? Cantik tak? Selera memasing lah kan? Cantik on the eyes of the beholder pun cukup ler... Ada byk bunga ros... My hubby kata, kalau ada org tanya, kenapa suka byk ros? Itu menunjukkan rumah I ada anak dara.. ha...ha..
Bilik air pun pakai wrought iron. My hubby nak standardize satu rumah pakai grill same design...
Kitchen cabinet sudah mali tapi hanya rangka.. Pintu and table top belum lagi.. So nampak tojeng sikit.. Memang nampak tak cantik sungguh! Itu dia mandur sudah inspect segala macam bagai..
This is our wet kitchen. Pun belum dipasang doors nya lagi...
Ni my hubby ambik gambar dinding yg ada default. Tah you all leh nampak ke idak tapi this wall ada nampak cat bertompok2 as if ada air meresap dalam itu wall. Dah jadi macam feature wall lah pulak.. Ni ada yg nak submit complaint ni...

Plan Asal for Kitchen Cabinet & Wardrobe
This is the first lakaran for my dry kitchen in 3D. White? Ergh! Reject dah. But I agree with the concrete table top and the 3G glass doors. For the concrete table top, at first, we decided to go for granite but after visiting the show room, I ubah plan and take the quartz.
Time ni the windows masih ada lagi tapi la ni dah hilang.. he..he.. we all pecahkan to cater for the sliding door.
Tak modern sungguh the fridge. I ada my own choice :) For my dry kitchen, I contrakan color between the table top and the color of the cabinets but still in black and white...
Ni plak for wardrobe for our Master bedroom. I wonder kenapa la designer ni suka warna putih! I dislike, dislike, dislike sbb nanti cepat kotor. Paham je lah kan? I ada anak kecik. Kalau di restrict kan depa to enter into my room pun, tak ada gunanya. Depa mesti "nomad" kat bilik Mama nyer gak..
You all nampak kat tetengah tu ada byk partition? Itu nak di letak handbags ke, kasut? I bukan byk handbags pun. And for kasut, this is my opinion from a Muslim perspective lah. Kasut baik letak kat luar or kat car porch ke. Lagi baik. Buatlah rak kasut kat situ, tak payah kat dalam bilik. Dah lah berdebu, pijak merata, berbau plak, so tok sah le nak tayang kat sini. Macam tak elok sgt... Kalau kasut gi function pun, letak balik dlm box and letak kat rak kasut elok2.
The sliding doors using the brown mirror. Cover the bathroom door sekali so kalau org masuk bilik I, mesti tak nampak itu door ke bilik air gitew... Ni kalau tolak ke kanan, masuk terus wardrobe...
Ha.. kalau tolak the sliding door baru nampak pintu ke bilik air...
Ni kalau tutup semua, nampak le refection memasing. Tak yah beli dressing table and cermin. Ni dah cukup besar utk make up and test baju, tak gitu?

Finalizing the Kitchen Cabinet and Wardrobe..
Saja I besarkan all photos biar org puas tgk..he.he.. Ni kat show room, and ada nampak itu baju hijau? My hubby tgh having discussion dgn the tokeh merangkap designer for our kitchen cabinet and wardrobe. Org yg sama buat kitchen cabinet kat rumah Cheras. Kira akak ni repeat customer lah.. Bukan I tak mintak quotation from org lain. Dah 5 org akak panggil, dah lah harganya luar biasa, the design pun agak luar biasa (design org tua). Aiyoh! Boleh bikin akak fening. Kita plak yg kena tanya macam2 and bagitahu itu ini... Kalau camtu, baik I jadi designer...
Senang deal dgn mamat ni sbb dia tau criteria we all esp to cater requirements my hubby yg sememangnya cerewet pasai benda2 ni. Memang dia ada taste and up to date. Biasalah kan, org muda...
Our wardrobe lebih kurang mcm ni lah gamaknya...
Ah! Teruja sungguh I! Memang kelazzzzz... Agak2 wet kitchen I cam ni ke rupanya? Kasi surprise sikitlah. Takkan nak show kat sini... Tapi kalau u all nak ikut design ni pun boleh.. tak de hal punya..
Ni design English country. Memang sejuk mata mandang tapi bukan concept dapur akak.. so, abaikan saja.. so ada sesapa yg nak tiru? Ngeh, ngeh... putih gitew...
So Mr XXX, kasi la price bagus sikit.. In fact I dah introduce you kat ramai kawan2 I.. dah ada 3 org buat dgn you... :)
